Ciad mile failte! That’d be Gaelic for “one hundred thousand welcomes,” the motto of my beautiful home province of Nova Scotia.
Welcome to my “good Catholic stuff” website! Here you’ll find all kinds of stuff related to the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. God loves you and wants you to be happy, which is why His Son Jesus went through a LOT of trouble to a) suffer and die for your sins, and b) found the Church He wants you to belong to.
I’m a conference speaker, a professional mind-hacker and magician (I only use my powers for good –- check out my website here www.coffinmagic.com), and an author.
For almost eight years, I had the great privilege of hosting the top-rated Catholic radio show in America, Catholic Answers Live (380+ stations, Sirius Satellite radio, and listeners worldwide) and the podcast Catholic Answers Focus.
Patrick leaning eerily on an invisible fireplace hearth, or something.
I hold graduate degrees in philosophy and theology from McGill University in Montreal and Franciscan University of Steubenville, and have conducted many hundreds of interviews with top leaders from around the world. In Catholicism, this means Vatican cardinals like Raymond Cardinal Burke, George Cardinal Pell, and Francis Cardinal Arinze along with bishops from Africa, Canada, the US, and France.
In American politics, this means presidential candidates Newt Gingrich, Gov. Bobby Jindal, Patrick Buchanan, Sen. Rick Santorum, and Congressman Jeff Fortenberry.
In Hollywood, this means actors and directors Kevin Costner, Joseph Fiennes, Colin Brady, Mike Disa, Harry Connick, Jr., Robert Davi, Jeannie Gaffigan (wife of Jim), and Matthew Marsden.
In medicine, this means Dr. Thomas Hilgers, the creator of NAPRO and designer of the Creighton Model of NFP; psychiatrist Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, and Dr. George Delgado, developer of the abortion reversal pill.
In professional sports, this means five-time MLB all-star Mike Sweeney, San Diego Chargers’ quarterback Philip Rivers, QB Kellen Clemens, and former Dodger and Padres Mark Loretta.
From the world of literature this means writers Dean Koontz and Poet Laureate of California Dana Gioia – along with scores of theologians and ordinary people with incredible stories of faith and courage.
Other hobbies include: coming up with new nicknames for my daughters, ironing a good pile of wrinkled clothing, sipping Tim Horton’s coffee, and wondering why my wife said yes.
Today, I host of The Patrick Coffin Show (www.patrickcoffin.media). The Patrick Coffin Show is an independent, listener supported podcast that features weekly interviews with A-list influencers and outliers in the effort to recover the Judeo-Christian roots of the culture. Patrick is the Canadian-born former host of Catholic Answers Live, and he has raving fans around the world. He injects these fascinating interviews with his own distinctive blend of depth and levity. If you’re tired of politically correct mediaspeak, you want to see God back in the public square, and you’re not allergic to having a laugh, this is the place to be.
Check out the podcast here on my new website. I’ll love to hear your feedback!
Show is also available on iTunes, Stitcher, GooglePlay and TuneIn.
